SS Graduates Take the Fair Grounds by Storm

It was a great weekend for Silver Springs graduates!  We pride ourselves on the individualized care that our horses receive, and even after our horses depart we follow their racing careers closely.  When a former graduate wins, the farm wins.

On Saturday, Monongahela was 2nd in the John B. Campbell Stakes at Laurel Park for the 2nd year in a row. Raised on the farm and graduate of our breaking and training program, the 6 year old GSW is now an earner of over half a million dollars.  (Pictured as a weanling)

Meanwhile on Friday, the Fair Grounds in Louisiana were taken by storm as Robinson, Strong Patriot, and Sharp Prospect won races 4, 5, and 6 respectively.

Robinson, a chestnut 3yo colt by Power Broker out of Yankee Doodle Girl, is pictured below during the early breaking process where our babies have learned to trot and canter in a paddock and begin to venture into a larger field for continued training.

Strong Patriot, a chestnut 4yo filly by Strong Mandate and a half sibling to Robinson, was also started here at Silver Springs.  She is pictured below learning the ropes through regular gate training, which is another integral part of our early breaking process. She bested the field by an impressive five lengths in this weekend’s start.

Sharp Prospect, a 4yo colt by Into Mischief, was part of our freshening program (pictured below with our Yearling and Training manager, Camilo).  He enjoyed daily turnout and grooming while with us, and is now back to winning ways in his second start of the year.

Congratulations to all connections!
